SMPD adds to certification

Detective Todd D'Albor returned to his desk at the St. Martinville Police Department Monday after completing a 10-week polygraph training course.

The Texas Department of Public Safety hosted the program at its academy in Austin, Texas. There D'Albor and 20 other peace officers from across the United States went through rigourous training on the instrumentation and tactics behind the polygraph machine.

D'Albor, the only trainee from Louisiana, said having this certification will allow for suspects to possibly clear themselves of charges, on a subconscious level.
