With a solid performance last week with wins over both Opelousas and Beau Chene, the No. 22-ranked Rayne High Lady Wolves will hit the road Tuesday (April 22) for the first round of the 2014 state softball playoffs. They are scheduled to meet Academy of Our Lady High School in Marrero for a 4 p.m. bi-district contest slated at the Terrytown Playground facility.

Under the new leadership of head coach Natalie Travasux, the Lady Wolves finished their 4-4A district schedule with a 10-2 slate and a runner-up finish just behind parish rival Crowley High (11-1). Crowley's only loss came at the hands of Rayne during the second round of district play.

Academy enters Tuesday's game seeded at No. 11 of the 4A rankings.
