Lady Wolves win Eunice meet

EUNICE - The Rayne High Track Team traveled to Eunice High School on Friday, March 21, for the annual Bobcat Relays. The Lady Wolves recorded 99.5 points to claim the girls’ team title, while the Wolves placed 8th with 35 points.

Placing in all four events on the evening, both Tristan Mouton and Tanner Wilson sat atop finishers in the girls division. 

Mouton finished with two firsts (100 and 300 hurdles), a second (long jump) and third (100 dash) for 34 points, while Wilson scored 28 points with a first (400 dash), two seconds (100 dash and triple jump)and a fifth place (long jump).

Completing the running events for the Lady Wolves were Charlesha Dugas (1st in 200 dash) and Hannah Benoit (3rd in 400 dash and 5th in high jump.

Taylor Arceneaux repeated a first place in the javelin while Imari Jackson won the pole vault to complete Rayne points.

On the boys’ side, Van Myles recorded 24 points during the meetclaimed two firsts (long jump and triple jump) and a 4th in the 200 dash.

Cordracus Thomas recorded a third in the 400 dash to complete the running events.

In the field for the Wolves, Desmond Cole threw a fourth in the shot put and teammate Devin Savoy placed fifth in the javelin.

Both squads will travel to Welsh High School on Friday, April 4, for the Greyhound Relays.
