CHS Ladies top Beau Chene; Lady Pios upend Cecilia

PRAIRIE BASSE – The Crowley Ladies used a five-run outburst in the second inning to cruise past homestanding Beau Chene, 6-2, Wednesday in a District 4-4A contest at the Lady Gators’ home field.
The Ladies (13-2, 8-0) recorded four hits and took advantage of three Beau Chene errors in the second inning to take an early lead.
Kristen Bonin and Katelyn Killmer got things going with back-to-back, one-out singles before Bonin eventually crossed the plate on one of the Lady Gators’ five errors on the day. Then, with two outs, Chadlyn Yokum delivered an RBI triple to the right centerfield gap to plate Amber Vincent, who was courtesy running for Killmer.
The Lady Gators committed another error that allowed Yokum to score before Maddie LeBouef put the finishing touches on the inning with an RBI double to the left field wall.
Taylor Grabowski doubled in the fifth inning and scored on an error to account for the Ladies’ final run.
Yokum and LeBouef each had one hit and one RBI for the Ladies while Grabowski and La’Shonda Delco each doubled. Bonin, Killmer and Villejoin each singled.
Killmer picked up the victory in the circle after surrendering two runs on three hits and one walk. She struck out three in seven innings.
Lady Pios upend Cecilia
CECILIA – The Notre Dame Lady Pios racked up 13 hits, six for extra bases, and cruised to a 12-6 victory over Cecilia Wednesday in a non-district contest.
The Lady Pios (16-3, 5-1) got an early spark from Elise LeBeouf when she led off the game with a home run to right field. Two more runs crossed the plate in the first inning on an RBI single from Taylor Satchell and a groundout from Grace Doucet.
Doucet singled and scored on an error in the third inning before the Lady Pios plated three more runs in the fourth on a bases-loaded triple by Satchell.
Daigle, who was 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI, drove home a run on a single in the fifth before plating two more in the seventh on a double. Doucet also had a two-run double in the frame.
Zoie Lavergne had three singles on the day while Satchell had two hits and four RBI. Doucet also had two hits and three RBI while LeBeouf, Brittney Nolan and Mollie Stelly each had one.
Stelly earned the victory in the circle after allowing six runs on five hits. She struck out five and walked three.
