(G) Sulphur 51, ND 37
The Sulphur Lady Tors went on a 15-3 run in the third quarter and went 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the fourth to upend Notre Dame in the second round of tournament play.
The Lady Pios took a 15- 7 advantage in the first quarter before Sulphur trimmed the lead to 22-20 at the intermission.
From there, it was all Sulphur in the third quarter.
The Lady Pios got one basket in the frame from Madelyn LeJeune and Alex Miller had the only other point on a free throw.
Sulphur’s Becca Brooks went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and Ally Cupit pitched in six points to seal the victory.
Gabbie Romero connected on four 3-pointers, all in the first half, and finished the night with a team-high 16 points. LeJeune added nine points while Miller and Hanna Esthay each had six.
(G) L. Arthur 57, MHS 37
Midland got within five  points in the third quarter but Lake Arthur went on a 18-5 run in the final frame to cruise past the Lady Rebels in their opening round of the Midland Holiday Spectacular Tournament Thursday evening.
Kristen Breaux and Macy Hoffpauir paced the Lady Rebels’ offense with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Katie Woods followed with nine points, Nicole Kraut had five and Elizabeth Istre followed with one.
(G) Holden 41, MHS 36
The Midland Lady Rebels rallied for 19 points in the fourth quarter but were they unable to overcome a sluggish start in the second half in a 5-point loss to Holden Friday morning.
The Lady Rebels scored just three points in the third frame and faced a 24-17 deficit entering the fourth quarter, where they outscored Holden 19-17.
Kristen Breaux paced the Lady Rebels with 18 points and Bethany LeJeune had eight. Elizabeth Istre followed with four points, Brook Comeaux had three, Macy Hoffpauir added two and Katie Woods had one.
(G) Iota 54, Comeaux 48
Jillian Boone and Brittany Johnson combined for seven 3-pointers and 43 points Thursday to lead the Iota Lady Dogs to a victory over Comeaux.
Johnson went 6-for-6 from the free throw line and scored 14 points in the second half, finishing with 21 points on the night.
Boone hit four 3-pointers and also racked up 21 points in the victory.
Mallory Faul added four points, Whitney Landry and Taylor DeVille each had three and Alexis St. Andre had two.
(B) Rayne 49, Elton 35
The Rayne Wolves went on a 30-18 run in the second half to secure a 14-point victory over Elton Thursday.
Byron Mouton and Drakkar Broussard each pumped in nine second half points to lead the charge.
Mouton finished with 14 points while Charles Jories had 12. Broussard followed with 11 points.
Also contributing in the victory were Peyton Larry with six points, Trenon Fontenot with four and Desmond Cole with two.
(G) Sulphur 47, Iota 40
Sulphur outscored the Iota Lady Dogs 11-7 in the fourth quarter and held on for a hard fought victory Thursday evening.
Becca Brooks and Ally Cupit did most of the damage for Sulphur by scoring 15 points each in the victory.
Brittany Johnson led Iota with nine points while Jillian Boone and Alexis St. Andre each had six. Mallory Faul followed with five points, Whitney Landry, Taylor DeVille and Cambri St. Andre each pitched in four and Becca Fantroy scored two.
