Rayne Recreation football action
The Rayne Recreation football and volleyball programs are in full swing as the cool weather moves into the area.
In peanut action, the Falcons blanked the Saints, 18-0. Quarterback Christopher Mckenie connected for two toudhwon passes, one to Michael Messina and the other to Anthony Granger. Cole Allen ended the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown run.
The Bears ran past the Chargers 14-0 for a peanut league win. Brenna Benoit scored on a 50-yard kickoff return to start the Bears’ scoring. Quarterback Makai Thompson connected with Brennan Benoit from 15 yards out for another Bears’ score, followed by a two-point safety by Griffin Champagne.
In another peanut league game, the Falcons blanked the Chargers, 21-0. Their first score was a three-yard TD run by Hannah Mckenzie and a two-point PAT by Christopher Mckenzie. Hannak McKenzie connected with Christopher Mckenzie for a three-yard TD pass for another score for the Falcons. The duo connected again towards the end of the ballgame from 28 yards out for another score, followed by a PAT to Anthony Granger.
The Bears claimed another peanut league win last week over the Saints, 18-0. Brennan Benoit rushed for two touchdowns during the win, one from 49 yards out and the other at 10 yards. Benoit ended the game with a 75-yard punt return for the last score of the contest.
In pee-wee action, the Eagles claimed a 14-0 win over the Bears. Lane Hoffpauir held onto a quarterback keeper for a score from 30 yards out and added a two-point conversion for the Eagles. Hoffpauir then found Jaga Boullion from 28 yards out for another score for the Eagles’ win.
The Broncos slid by the Vikings 16-14 in pee-wee action. Drew LeJeune returned a punt for a 50-yard score and Jackson Link added a two-point conversion for a Bronco lead. The Vikings tied things up with a touchdown run by Ayden Messina and a two-point conversion by Lathon Richard. In double overtime, Hudson Hollier ran a touchdown for the Broncos and Jackson Link scored a tw-point conversion for the Broncos. The vikings answered with a touchdown pass from Ayden Messina to Jacob Trahan, but came up short with the attempted PAT as the Broncos claimed the close win.
The Redskins ran past the 49’ers, 22-0. Hunter Simon scored on a 50-yard touchdown run with Ezekial Guidry seeing the endzone with the PAT. Grant Simon found Hunter Gummarino for a 40-yard TD pass for the Redskins’ second score. To finish the game, Grant Simon returned a 60-yard return for a score and Jett Dupuis ran in a PAT for the win.
In a tght contest, the Packers edged the Patriots, 7-6 in pee-wee action. The Patriots were led by a 53-yard TD run by Jaxson Casanova. The Packers answered with a 75-yard TD run by John David Dupont and a conversion as Dylan Judice found James Charles Orillion for the PAT to win the gme.
The Vikings outscored the Packers 12-7 for a pee-wee win. Scoring for the packers was Dylan Judice on a quarterback keeper. Judice then found Orillion for the PAT. The Vikings was led by Lathon Richard who scored two rushing touchdowns, one from the 53 yard line and the other from 43 yards out for the win.
The Eagles claimed a 14-8 win over the broncos in pee-wee action. Quarterback Lane Hoffpauir found Jagar Boullion for two Eagles’ touchdowns, in addition to a PAT run by Hoffpauir. The Broncos fell short with a 50-yard TD run by Jackson Link and a PAT by Drew LeJeune.
The Patriots claimed a 16-0 win over the 49’ers. Jaxson Casanova and Bryson Meche each scored a TD, with Parker Faust and Meche adding PAT’s for the Patricots’ win.
The Redskins outscored the Bears 12-6 for a pee-wee win. The bears were the first to score on a 38-yard TD run by Bradon Gwyn. The Redskins answered with a TD run by Grant Simon. Simon then scored again, this time on a 55-yard intereception return for the win.
