Late barrage propels Gents past Church Point

CHURCH POINT – The Crowley Gents were in need of a “big” win after losing a heartbreaker to the Eunice Bobcats and Thursday, they got one.

LAKE CHARLES – Notre Dame and Iota’s tennis teams combined to qualify 12 players for this week’s Division III state tournament after a strong showing last week in regional competition.

CROWLEY – Survive and advance is the name of the game when it comes to the Louisiana state softball playoffs and the Notre Dame Lady Pios did just that Friday in their Class 3A regional contest against St. Charles at Hensgens Field.

Jena upsets Lady Dogs; Lady Warriors cruise past Plainview

IOTA – For six innings, the Iota Lady Bulldogs were right there in it during their Class 3A regional contest against the Jena Lady Giants.
But a few miscues here and there in the final frame allowed the Lady Giants to break the game wide open and walk away with a 7-1 victory.
