Sportsmen’s League fishing tournament winners listed
The Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsored its 32nd ASL Annual Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 22, held at any landing in Louisiana as announced by chairmen Ken Bordelon and Dee DeRouen.
Fishing took place Saturday between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m. with boundaries including Texas to the west and Mississippi to the east. All Wildlife and Fisheries, State and Local Regulations were observed.
Weigh-in took place between 3-6 p.m. at the LSU Ag Building in Crowley with cash prizes awarded in four categories: red fish, speckled trout, flounder and black drum.
Top fishermen for the day were:
Flounder - 1st place Paul Touchet 1.53 lbs., 2nd place Kenneth Hebert 1.41 lbs., Troy Shelton 1.40 lbs.
Drum - 1st place Billy Duschler 32.93 lbs., 2nd place Howard DeRouen 27.16 lbs., 3rd place Craig Meche 14.64 lbs.
Red Fish - 1st place Lane Miller 8.54 lbs., 2nd place Russell Freeman 5.53 lbs., 3rd place Jason Freeman 5.38 lbs.
Speck - 1st place Jordan Landry 3.40 lbs., 2nd place Chad Credeur 2.54 lbs., 3rd place Ben Boudreaux 2.51 lbs.
Door prizes were also given away after all the fish were weighed in. Barbecue hamburgers and refreshments were provided to all participants.
Thanks to the many participants and supporters of this year’s event is expressed by the ASL for another successful tournament.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the many events and programs the Acadiana Sportsmen’s League sponsor throughout the year.
