St. Edmund holds eighth-grade ceremony
Forty-four St. Edmund eighth-grade students received their certificates of completion on Monday evening at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
The eighth-graders, along with Fr. Tom Voorhies, Leon Estes, assistant principal, family, and friends, met for the school’s annual eighth-grade awards ceremony.
Students received academic medals and plaques while others were given sports, 4-H Club, Literary Rally, Young Christian Awards, GPA 3.0 and 3.5 +above certificates.
Academic Medals, which include highest GPA in subjects, was awarded to Morgan Bollich for every subject-Science, Reading, English, Math, History, and Religion.
Claire Francois Montz received an award for grades, interest in subject, and effort.
Receiving the award for highest GPA in English was Morgan Bollich, Science award recipient was Morgan Richard, Math award went to Morgan Richard, and Religion award recipient was awarded to Morgan Bollich.
The Eunice News awarded the student with the highest GPA in Language Arts, which included the ability and willingness of the person to be creative, to embrace new ideas while recognizing the value of tradition and to increase good vocabulary and to develop writing skills. Trey Quirk was the recipient.
The Woodmen of the World award, given to a 8th grader with the highest GPA in American History, went to Morgan Bollich, and the Young Christian Awards were rewarded to Seth Richard and Veronica Huckaby
