Supplies needed for kids
By Katherine Miller
CROWLEY – The beginning of the upcoming school year is just around the corner, and according to Trisha Breaux, child advocate for Faith House, many children are in need of supplies.
Faith House is a place of safety and security where battered women and their children are given the support they need to move forward with their lives.
“During this difficult time in their lives, they often leave abusive homes with just the clothes on their backs,” said Breaux. “We understand the expense of preparing for school and greatly appreciate any support that you can offer these children.”
Breaux supplied a list of supplies that are needed by the children of Faith House. These include: bookbags for boys and girls, 1-subject spiral bound notebooks, 3-subject spiral bound notebooks, 5-subject spiral bound notebooks, packs of loose leaf paper (college and wide ruled), folders, kindergarten writing tablets, 3 and 5 subject compositions, marble compositions (wide ruled), package construction paper, binder index dividers, sheet protectors, plastic folders with pockets, plastic folders with prongs, 2x5 and 3x5 index cards, bottles/sticks of glue, dry erase markers, coloring books/activity books, zipper pencil pouches/boxes, crayola markers and colors, scissors, pens and pencils.
If you want to help but do not have the time to shop, you may also purchase a Wal-Mart gift card and we will do the shopping for you. All donations provided are tax deductible.
