Symphony joins with Youth Orchestra Saturday
LAFAYETTE - Carmina Burana is coming to Acadiana on Saturday, March 21 at the Heymann Performing Arts Center.
This celebration of music is the masterpiece of composer Carl Orff who put to music love poems found in a medieval collection.
The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra will be joined by several other local entertainment groups.
Prior to the concert, patrons will be treated to a performance in the Mezzanine by the Acadiana Symphony Youth Orchestra. Other slated performers for this concert include L.J. Alleman Chorus, Ascension Day School Chorus, Chorale Acadienne and UL Chorale. Adding to the tremendous talent of these local performers are also three celebrated guest artists, Esther Heideman (soprano), Brian Stucki (tenor) and Paul Sahuc (baritone).
