Task force arrest Ficklen with drugs

According to Abbeville Police Chief Rick Coleman and Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Municipal Narcotics Task Force made one narcotic arrest.

Agents with the Task Force arrested 18-year-old James Ficklen of Abbeville for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Resisting an Officer.

While Task Force agents were doing narcotics surveillance in a known drug activity area they observed suspicious activities being conducted by James Ficklen and when he was approached by Task Force Agents he broke and ran. When the suspect was apprehended, narcotics were found on him.

Chief Rick Coleman and Sheriff Mike Couvillon would like to thank the public for their awareness of drug activities in their neighborhoods and calling in such activities to the Task Force. It is with this type of cooperation from concerned citizens in this city and our parish, that we can make a difference in our neighborhoods and residential areas, in curbing illegal drug activities.
