Task Force make drug arrest
According to Chief Rick Coleman and Sheriff Mike Couvillon, the Vermilion Parish Municipal Narcotics Task Force made one ( narcotic arrest.
On Monday, December 22, 2008 information was obtained that drug activities was occurring in a specific area in Abbeville.
Agents with the Vermilion Parish Narcotics Task Force proceeded to investigate the information and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving 601 Parkview Drive, occupied by two Asian males.
Agents detained the subjects and received permission to search the vehicle for illegal narcotics.
Agents searched the vehicle and located 16 white pills, with a horse shoe imprint, suspected of being MDMA (Ecstasy).
The street value is $400
The investigation revealed the pills belonged to Pham Lam of 502 South State St. Abbeville,
Pham Lam was arrested and transported for booking into the Vermilion Parish Corrections Center.
Bond was set at $20,000.
The Task force would like to thank the Abbeville Police Department Patrol Division for their assistance with this investigation.
