Task Force makes drug busts
The Vermilion Parish Municipal Narcotics Task Force arrested, Edgar Elpido Castaneda Cota and Jesus Salazar Hernandez, who resides at 909 E. St. Victor Street of Abbeville was arrested after a traffic Stop during which the Vermilion Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted on the vehicle they were driving.
Vermilion Parish Municipal Narcotic officers executed a search warrant upon the vehicle and their residence.
During the search of the vehicle officers found nine ounces of Cocaine, one ounce of Crystal Meth, one ounce of Heroin, 13 - Loritabs, 89 - pieces of Xanax, 1-Blunt Marijuana Cigar, and a 22 cal. handgun.
The street value is $20,000.
Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Vermilion Parish Sheriff Jail for Possession with intent to Distribute Cocaine, Possession with intent to Alprazolam (Xanax), Possession with intent to Heroin, Possession of a firearm in the present of CDS, Possession with intent to Loritabs. A hold was placed on both suspects for Immigrations.
Sheriff Mike Couvillon, Abbeville Mayor Mark Piazza, Abbeville Chief of Police Rick Coleman, commends the Narcotics Task Force for a job well done.
