Terro Descendants Attend Family Reunion

Descendants of Hermenegildo (Emile) and Josephine LaGrange Terro of the Indian Bayou area gathered at the American Legion Home in Rayne for the 2009 annual Terro family reunion

.

The day-long event was held Saturday, Aug. 1st.

Families who were honored during the reunion were: Francis, married to Eva Bordes, five children, Leawood LeRoy - Elgin - Audrey and Helen “Elgin” - eldest in attendance - Eugenia, married to Pierre Benoit, five children - Eunice, Hazel, Earl, Mable and Leola - “Eunice Broussard” eldest in attendance.

Also honored during the reunion were:

- Viola T. Boudreaux of Rayne, daughter of the late Martin Terro, who was the eldest family member in attendance at 93 years of age.

- Elizabeth Clair Terro, 14-month-old daughter of Dr. Keith and Clair Terro III (Bubba) of Youngville - youngest family member in attendance.

- Sonya Taylor of Utophia, Texas, traveled the farthest to attend the reunion.

A noon time meal was provided by families in attendance who each provided a covered dish for the buffet.

Entertainment was provided by disc jockey Dale Terro of Sulpur.

The next Terro family reunion will be held the first Saturday in August of 2010 at the American Legion Home.
