Terry Charles Gautreaux
Rayne - Memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. for Terry Charles Gautreaux, 57, who died Friday, October 19, 2012 at his residence in Rayne with family beside him, leaving a profound mark on those who knew and loved him, and leaving this world with one less honorable person.
Interment will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Restheaven Cemetery, Baton Rouge, LA.
He survived by his mother, Lois P. Gautreaux of Baton Rouge, life-long partner, Albert Owers of Rayne, brother-in-law, David Falcon and nephews Jordy and Brian Falcon of Brusley, LA, as well as his extended family: Louise and Woodie Bernard, Kelli, Jeff and Julian Eberle, and Mark, Dana, Riley and Ashton Miller.
His death follows those of his father, Charles Gautreaux, sister, Susan Falcon.
He was born Saturday, January 22, 1955 in New Orleans, LA, Son of the late Charles Henry Gautreaux and Lois Marie Pourciau Gautreaux.
Terry's professional career spanned 20 years as a graphics designer in Lafayette's advertising community and the past 12 years as a noted interior designer. Those fortunate to have worked alongside him know that he brought beauty into their homes and laughter into their lives. Although a native of Baton Rouge, Terry was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Rayne where he volunteered as a teacher of the RCIA program, and, for a period, extended his decorating talents adorning the church's alter with his flower arrangements on many special occasions and holidays. His talents were surpassed by his character qualities-turning strangers into friends, treating everyone with the same level of respect, and offering himself as a great listener and advisor. A loving and giving friend, son and brother, Terry lived his life often saying, "When they replay the video tape of my life at the gates of heaven, I want to like what I see--mostly, I want Him to like what He sees."
A rosary will be recited Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne, LA. Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
