Thanksgiving Baskets & Holiday Wishes Were Shared

Thanksgiving baskets and holiday wishes were shared with families in Rayne as a result of donated canned goods and money collected at Fright Fest Halloween activities sponsored by the City of Rayne.

Ten families (ranging from one person households to households of five people) were the recipients of baskets consisting of a hen, potatoes, onions, seasonings, rice, sugar and approximately 25 canned goods per box. Cultural Director Cheryl McCarty thanked all who donated items for the food baskets and those who assisted in the delivery of them, including city workers and Rayne royalty. She said the huge outpouring of support is indicative of the hospitality and compassion the citizens of Rayne show at every turn. (Acadian-Tribune Photo)
