Thomas William Miller
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Iota, La for Thomas William Miller, 74, who died Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Galveston, Texas.
Fr. Mikel Polson, Pastor of Saint Joseph Catholic Church will celebrate the Mass in Iota and the Committal services at the Calvary cemetery in Jennings. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The family request visitation to be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Miller was born December 16, 1936 in Eunice to the late Thomas and Marie LeDoux Miller. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and was an avid camper. He owned and operated Miller’s Repair of Iota for 30 years. He was a member of the Navy Reserves, The Jennings Police Auxiliary, The Iota volunteer Fire Department and served on the Iota town council for eight years.
He is survived by his wife Florence Bergeaux Miller of Iota; sons Thomas Joseph and Christine Miller of Iota, Paul and Cathy Miller of Iota, John and Mandy Miller of Rayne, Ray Miller of Crowley and Michael and Katie Miller of Iota; daughters Tina and Troy Clark of Church Point, Sandra and Abbie Seilhan of Iota, Connie and Ralph LaCombe of Iota, Wanda and Douglas LaCombe of Egan, Debora and Howard Sensat of Iota and Paula and Zachary Cart of Iota; a half-sister Laura and Robert Bergeaux of Jennings; 32 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother John Alden Miller; his first wife Gertrude Lejeune and his second wife Natilia Aucoin.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Joseph Miller, Paul Miller, John Miller, Ray Miller, Michael Miller and Troy Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Abbie Seilhan, Ralph LaCombe, Douglas LaCombe, Howard Sensat and Zachary Cart.
