Three Ten Club conducts opening of their 2008-2009 club year
Members of the Three Ten Club met on Tuesday, September 16, at the home of Jane Omohumdro for the first meeting of the new club year. Co-hostesses were Carolyn Barousse, Florette Bergeron, and Peggy Sandidge.
Guiding the club this year will be Mary Beth Geesey, president; Suzanne Gray, vice-president; Muff Bier, secretary; and Bobbie Chambers, treasurer.
Serving as committee chairmen are Helen Zaunbrecher, telephone; Sarah Bercier, concern; Betty Faulk, publicity; Imogene LaCour, Soup Kitchen; Flo Faulk, scholarship; M’elise Trahan, membership; and Kakie Hoffpauer, yearbook.
The meeting was called to order by the president who invited Elaine Wright to lead the group in the Club Collect and M’elise Trahan to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
New yearbooks were presented to members by Alice Whiting who also gave a brief overview of the club theme for this year .
All programs will deal with local, Louisiana products. Also serving on the yearbook committee are Carolyn Barousse, Mary Freeland, and chairman, Kakie Hoffpauer.
Following the business meeting, delicious refreshments of chicken salad sandwiches, cake and condiments and beverages were served by the hostesses to Wilda Burleigh, Bobbie de la Houssaye, Barbara Geesey, Joellen Hindman, Joan Hoffpauer, Louise Morrow, Georgie Petitjean, Valerie Trahan and those previously mentioned.
