Three Ten Club treated to Mediterranean meal
At the monthly meeting of the Three Ten Club on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, Members enjoyed the talents of Dianne Wright Hoffpauer, Research Culinary Chef, who prepared Paella, a
Mediterranean rice and seafood dish for their enjoyment.
Also included with the meal were fresh string beans wrapped in bacon and delicious buttered French bread. An assortment of desserts, wine and flavored iced tea completed the meal.
Serving as hostesses and assisting with the service were Elaine Wright, Katie Hoffpauer, and M’elise Trahan at whose home the meeting was held.
Prior to enjoying the delicious meal, Elaine Wright, mother of the accommodating chef, presented a program entitled “Spice Up Your Life” which was about Tony Chachere and his Creole seasoning.
She displayed his cookbooks and gave a history of his life and his love for cooking, and how he got the idea for his seasoning mix.
President, Mary Beth Geesey conducted the business meeting. She called on Peggy Sandidge to lead the Club Collect and Peggy Landry to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
Following secretary, treasurer and committee reports, new officers were elected for the 2009-2010 club year. Elected were Betty Faulk, president; Flo Faulk, vice-president; Alice Whiting, secretary and Bobbie Chambers, treasurer.
Alice Whiting gave a preview of the annual Spring Fling which will be held on Tuesday, April 28.
Members will travel to St. Martinville by bus to tour the Acadian Mural and other places of interest, then enjoy lunch at Le Vieuex Maison.
