Trahan and Regan wed at Bethel Ministries

JENNINGS - Regina Elaine Trahan of Crowley and Nicholas Bryan Regan of Iota were united in marriage at 2 p.m. on July 23, 2011 at Bethel Ministries in Jennings. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Pastor Mike Landry.

The bride is the daughter of Marjorie Trahan of Crowley and the late Clifton Trahan. Her grandparents are the late Colise and Phoebe Cormier and the late Wilson and Lucia Trahan.

She graduated from Crowley High School in 2004 and is currently a bank teller at Bank of Commerce and Trust at the main office in Crowley.

The groom is the son of Joey Regan of Iota and Jayme Brunet of Evangeline. His paternal grandparents are Evelyn Regan of Iota and the late George Regan. His maternal grandparents are Earl “Jackie” Taylor of Egan and the late Mary Taylor. Nicholas graduated from Iota High School in 2005 and is currently working for Island Operating Company as an A-operator.

Escorted by her brother, Jason Phil Trahan, Regina was elegant in her white satin strapless gown which was enhanced with beaded lace appliqué, a “cut out lace” hem and a chapel length train. She carried eighteen white calla lilies accented with monkey grass embellishments.

In keeping with tradition, the bride also carried a handkerchief which belonged to her father, representing something old. Her white satin bridal gown was new. Regina wore pearl jewelry, borrowed from a close friend and her garter was blue.

Serving as matron of honor was Regina’s cousin, Angelle Lavergne. Bridesmaids attending to the bride were Jodie Regan and Devan Brunet, sisters of the groom; Ashley Ashby, friend of the bride; and Heather Schexnayder and Katie Menard, both friends and coworkers of the bride.

The bridesmaids wore stylish horizon blue, floor length dresses, which covered one shoulder. Charmeuse accentuated the bust and straps, and the dresses featured a long, cascading back. Angelle’s strapless dress distinguished her as matron of honor.

Best man was John Andrew Simar, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Joshua Regan, brother of the groom; and Christopher Lavergne, cousin of the groom; Eric Smith, Lucas LeJeune and Reese Trahan, all friends of the groom.

Serving as ushers were Jared Frey, cousin of the bride, and Jared Brunet, brother of the groom. Flower girl was Baylie Benson, the groom’s niece, and ring bearer was Brenden LaVergne, the bride’s godchild.

The mother of the bride, the former Marjorie Cormier, wore a stunning silver jacket dress detailed with silver sequins and beading.

The mother of the groom, the former Jayme Taylor, chose a floor length, black dress which highlighted silver beading detail.

A reception was held at Cajun Elite in Jennings. Fresh white calla lily table bouquets were used as decorative centerpieces.

Served by Rachel Frey, the bride’s godmother, the bridal cake was a round three tiered white cake dressed up with white pearls and a horizon blue ribbon around the bottom of each layer. An “R” cake toper representing the couple’s initial was placed on top.

The groom’s godmother, Roxanne Miller, served the grooms cake. It was a unique confection of chocolate cake in the shape of a Bud Light beer can surrounded by ice cube-shaped sugar crystals.

A July 22 rehearsal dinner was held at the home of Terry and Gaynell Guillory, friends of the bride and groom. Chicken, sausage and chicken gizzard gumbo was served to the guests and bridal party.

After their wedding, Regina and Nicholas will reside at their home in Evangeline.
