Two Ville Platte men are facing charges after allegedly taking a vehicle here.
Lt. John B. “Chip” Matte Jr. said on July 5, at approximately 3:30 p.m. the department received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Parkview Apartments. At 5:30 p.m., the victim called to notify police that he had spotted his vehicle on Lincoln Road and was pulling in behind the vehicle at a business.
Matte said officers arrived and discovered Aaron Williams Jr., 40, 910 N. Stagg, Ville Platte, was driving the vehicle. Williams allegedly told officers he had borrowed the vehicle from a friend, but he could not identify his friend or where he lived.
“The radio, speakers and amplifiers were taken out of the vehicle and it was damaged,” Matte said.
An investigation led authorities to arrest two. Both Williams and Mickey Thomas, 19, 931 W. Long St., Apt. 42, Ville Platte, were charged with theft, unauthorized use of a moveable and criminal damage to property.
