Two local athletes named to the 2010 LTFCA

Two local athletes among top performers from the LHSAA Track and Field State Champonship Meet have been named to the 2010 LTFCA (La. Track Coaches Association) All State Outdoor Track and Field Team.

Annie Simoneaux of Rayne High School and Mayme Cook of Notre Dame were both named as honorees in the javelin.

Simoneaux took home her second state javelin championship in as many years during the recently completed 3-A State Track Meet held at LSU. Her effort in the javelin was 150-5, the ninth best toss in the nation this spring and her personal best.

Joining Simoneaux in the javelin for the LTFCA honors was Mayme Cook of Notre Dame. She claimed the runner-up medal during the state meet with a toss of 139-6, her personal best by a foot.

Also of Acadia Parish named to the LTFCA Team was Crowley High’s Tonori Boutte. He was named among the boys 100-meter dash honorees. He claimed a second place finish at the state meet
