Two men at large; escape authorities

Acadiana residents are asked to be on alert for two separate escapees in the area. One man is considered to be armed and dangerous by authorities.

Lafayette Parish Authorities continue to search for escaped inmate, Jeremy Fontenot. According to Deputies, Fontenot bolted while on a work release program.

Anyone with information regarding Fontenot’s whereabouts is asked to call 232-TIPS.

As Lafayette Parish Deputies continue their search for Fontenot, Jeanerette Police Chief Larry Jones and his staff are searching for Kruston Gipson.

The 48 year old Baton Rouge man broke away while being booked for a switched license plate Monday morning. He has reportedly stopped drivers in the area.

Authorities say that Gipson could be in the Jeanerette, Saint Mary or Lafayette area and is considered armed and dangerous. Gipson’s record lists multiple robbery and theft charges.

He was last seen wearing a white hat, light blue shirt and dark jeans and is 5’10” weighing 185 lbs.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Kruston Gipson is asked to call 276-2207.
