Two Rayne men face burglary charge

Authorities in Acadia Parish recently arrested two men in connection with a Dec. 23rd burglary that occurred on Whiteoak Hwy near Branch.

According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, Oakley Dale Bourque, 34, of Whitmore Road, Scott and Shannon Troy Thibodeaux, 40, of Fire Station Lane, Rayne, were both arrested following the issuance of a search warrant for a residence on Fire Station Lane and the discovery of several items taken in the burglary.

As the investigation continued, authorities with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Division joined the investigation and coins from the Dec. 23 burglary were recovered from a residence in rural St. Landry Parish.

Melancon stated that Detectives are presently looking for two pistols (Ruger 44 Magnum and a Black Hawk) taken in the burglary. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Jeff Stewart at 788-8700.

Thibodeaux was charged with simple burglary and parole violation. Bourque was charged with simple burglary.
