UPDATE - Bomb threat forces Church Point High evacuation

According to Acadia Parish Superintendent of Schools John Bourque, "Church Point High School has resumed its normal class schedule," after a bomb threat was called in at the high school. Bourque explained that these calls are typically called in via pre-paid cellular phones, so it is highly unlikely that the caller will be identified.

Church Point Chief of Police Albert Venable was unavailable for comment of this release.

The Crowley Post-Signal has received an unofficial report claiming that Church Point High School students, faculty and staff have been evacuated from the school's campus due to a bomb threat.

Church Point Authorities as well as Acadia Parish School Board officials were unavailable for comments at this time.

The Post-Signal will continue to give up to the minute reporting as this and other stories unfold.
