UPDATE: Identity of man killed in Saturday morning fire released

The identity of a Crowley man killed in a fire early Saturday morning has been released.

State Fire Marshal H. "Butch" Browning announced today that Bryan Alcock, 44, was the man that firefighters found.

The Crowley Fire Department was dispatched at 2:59am to 1815 James Street. Firefighters entered the burning building and found the body of Alcock. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Acadia Parish coroner; an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The home did have two working smoke alarms and firefighters reported hearing the smoke alarms alerting upon their arrival at the home.

Investigators have made a preliminary determination that indicates this fire was caused by an electrical failure.
