UPDATE: Morse boil advisory lifted

MORSE – The boil order in Morse has been lifted.

MORSE – Until further notice, the village of Morse has been placed under a boil order.

The order was issued after a malfunction at the water plant. Officials say that a breaker tripped at the plant causing an issue with the pump Wednesday night.

By about 10 p.m. pressure had dropped very low throughout the village. In fact, in some homes there was no water because the pressure was so low.

As of Thursday morning, pressure had returned to 50 PSI for Morse.

Officials will announce when the Department of Health and Hospitals determines the water is safe again. As of Thursday morning, the DHH had not checked the water and Morse was awaiting that check.

The village hopes to get water back to normal within 24 to 48 hours, but at this point it’s impossible to guess.

If any citizen has any more questions about the boil order, contact city hall at 783-7555.
