UPDATE: Rayne Police make arrest in shooting

RAYNE – Rayne Chief of Police Carroll Stelly announced that Rayne detectives have arrested a suspect in the shooting that occurred at 711 West Lesley Street in Rayne Monday, Sept. 9.

Arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder was Kaylor Sinegal, a black male born Aug. 7, 1995. Sinegal is 17 years old and lives at 402 Live Oak Street in Rayne. 

On Monday, Sept. 9, at approximately 6 p.m., the Rayne Police Department responded to a shots fired call. 

Upon arrival, they found a 17-year-old victim shot in the stomach. The victim was transported to an area hospital. 

Bond has been set at $250,000 for Sinegal and the investigation is continuing.
