Vallie Mary LeBlanc
GUEYDAN - Services for Vallie Mary “Sue Sue” LeBlanc, 85, who passed away on Saturday, January 24 at Kaplan Health Care Center, will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse, with Father Don Pousson officiating.
A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Burial will be held in Hanks Cemetery following the service.
Mrs. LeBlanc was born in Morse, LA to the late Oleus and Ella Hargrave Leger. She was a retired LPN, and a member of the Ladies Altar Society and liked helping her community and church.
Survivors include her six daughters, Ida LeMaire of Kaplan, Mary Lee LeBlanc of Kaplan Bessie Lejeune and her husband Roy of Houston, TX, Jo Ellen LeBlanc of Patterson, LA and Peggy Davis and husband Joseph of Vidor, TX, and Rebecca Abshire and husband Chris of Kaplan; two brothers, Oleus Leger, Jr and Mac Arthur Leger of Gueydan; and three sister, Emma Ruddock of Estherwood, Lucy Potier of Alabama, and Lucile Simon of Estherwood; thirteen grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph LeBlanc, granddaughter Jessica LeBlanc and son-in-law, Ernest LeMaire.
Visitation will be held at Matthews and Sons Funeral Home in Gueydan on Sunday, January 25 from 1:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., and again on Monday, January 26 from 8 a.m. until time of service.
