By Katherine Miller
“We are tremendously excited this season to have the opportunity to present the Family Series,” stated Kim G. Gattle, director of the Grand Opera House of the South.
Aside from the busyness of everyday business of the Opera House, Gattle and her family have recently installed carpet throughout the aisles of the theatre.
Kicking off the series this coming Saturday night will be ventriloquist, Lynn Trefzger, whose trunk full of zany characters that have accompanied her to stages throughout the country. Her vocal illusion talents were first seen on tv’s popular “Star Search.”
Since then, she has appeared with such famous artists as Jeff Foxworthy, Ray Romano, The Smothers Brothers, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and has appeared on ABC, TNN, A & E, and Lifetime networks.
According to fans, her off-the-wall audience interplay is riotously funny, and her performances are tailored for both families and adults.
In speaking of her show, she stated, “You could find yourself next to a rather inebriated camel or with a new baby you didn’t even realize that you had.”
Trefzger was also named the “2007 Funniest Woman of the Year” by the American Entertainment Magazine.
Aside from her many accomplishments, her special performances include the Duke Children’s Classic, which is Duke Hospital’s Celebrity Golf Classic with Jeff Foxworthy, which she will participate in again this year. Also, she enjoys performing for the audiences aboard the Wonder and the Magic with Disney Cruise Lines, Atlantis Resort and Casino, as well as many other corporate and university engagements that she is often invited to.
The Family Series is sponsored by the Ted and Judy Carmichael family.
