Verda Oliver Hebert
IOTA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael Chapel, Egan for Verda Oliver “Maw Verd” Hebert, 83, who died Monday, August 24, 2009 in Egan.
Fr. Jim Brady, associate pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sensat Cemetery in Egan.
Survivors include two daughters, Priscilla H. Gray and her husband Lloyd Clark Gray, Jr. of Crowley, Christine H. LeJeune and her husband Craig of Roanoke; three sons, Lynden Hebert and his wife Karen of Crowley, Cecil Hebert and his wife Debbie of Egan, Robert Hebert and his wife Diane of Crowley; one sister, Betty Autin of Jennings; one brother, Joseph Oliver, Jr. of Crowley; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Hebert; one son, Farrell Hebert; her parents, Joseph and Edese Meche Oliver; one sister and five brothers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Iota.
