Victoria Miller honored at miscellaneous shower

A miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Victoria Miller of Crowley, bride-elect of Bryan John Boudreaux of Lake Charles, was held on July 12, at 2 p.m. at the home of Roland and Charlotte Miller Foreman of Crowley.

The future bride is the daughter of Joseph and Cynthia Courville Miller of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of James and Sylvia Comeaux Miller, Sr. and Harry L. Courville, Sr. and the late Betty Landry Courville, all of Crowley.

The prospective groom is the son of Bryan John and Charlotte Johnson Boudreaux, Sr. of Lake Charles. He is the grandson of A.J. and Lorraine Boudreaux of Westlake and the late Robert and Johnny Mae Johnson.

The couple will be united in marriage on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Point Aux Loups Ballroom in Iota. The Ballroom will provide the setting for the exchanging of their wedding vows and the reception that will immediately follow. Reverend Jimmy Broussard, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Hosting the social was Charlotte Foreman, godmother of the bride; Brittany Miller, sister and chosen maid of honor of the bride; Karen Miller, aunt of the bride; Carly Foreman and Elizabeth Rue, cousins of the bride, and Donna Broussard, Mildred Miller, Peggy Miller.

On her special day, the honoree was attired in a lovely Kelly green sundress with the hem consisting of a white embroidered accent. She was presented was a corsage of yellow roses entwined with purple ribbon.

The mother of the future bride wore a black and white polka dotted sundress accented with a corsage made of a single white chrysanthemum with pink ribbon, while the mother of the groom-elect wore a multi-colored soft blouse with summer white capris pants. She was also given a corsage made of a single white chrysanthemum, but it featured a blue ribbon.

The Foreman home was beautifully decorated with a theme following the wedding colors of Aubergine (purple), ivory and gold. Vases of white roses with purple accents were placed on the refreshment tables. The couple has gift registries at Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond and Walmart.

Among the many dishes served were fruit and vegetables trays, a variety of chips and dips, chicken salad sandwiches, crawfish etoufee in pastry shells, a selection of sweets and coffee and punch. Guest were also treated to a delicious single layer sheet cake trimmed in purple and adorned with purple and white rosettes, greenery and wedding doves.

The shower accommodated approximately 35 guest with out-of-towners traveling from Iowa and Lake Charles.

Recognized as special guest were Sylvia Miller, paternal grandmother of the bride; Barbara Courville, maternal step-grandmother of the bride; and Norma Landry, great aunt of the bride.

Following the wedding the couple will reside in Lake Charles.
