Video evidence being reviewed

CROWLEY – As of press time, there was no further information released Tuesday about who may be responsible for the bomb threats Monday which shut down the Acadia Parish Courthouse for the entire day.

That doesn’t mean, however, that authorities aren’t hot on his trail.

“We are still investigating the situation and when this individual is arrested he will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon.

Monday afternoon, authorities said that the calls were made from two local grocery stores. The first call was made from a pay phone at Winn Dixie on N. Parkerson Ave. shortly after 8 a.m. and the second was made from a pay phone at Superfoods on 2nd St. shortly after 1 p.m.

Authorities are reviewing video evidence from both stores and believe that the calls were made by the same person.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 788-8707.
