Vintage-inspired bridal shower held for Sommer LeJeune
CROWLEY - An “old-fashioned” bridal shower was recently held for Sommer Starr LeJeune of Crowley, bride-elect of Aaron Michael Thibodeaux, also of Crowley.
Sommer is the daughter of Tonya and Edward LeJeune, and Aaron is the son of Janet and Bobby Thibodeaux, all of Crowley.
The shower was held on Saturday, June 29, at 2 p.m. at Forest Park Church of Christ in Crowley. Hostesses included Nichole LeJeune, friends of the bride and members of the Forest Park Church of Christ.
The shower hall was decorated in a vintage-inspired style in the bride’s chosen colors of soft yellow and white. The tables were covered with white cloths and the chairs with white slips tied back with yellow sashes. Arrangements of yellow roses were scattered throughout the room.
Nearly 70 guests were in attendance, and they enjoyed a variety of finger foods, as well as cake for dessert.
The shower cake was a two-layer white confection with strawberry cream cheese filling. It was decorated with yellow frosting and an ivory icing ribbon, and the top layer was adorned with the bride’s initial “S.”
For the shower, the bride-elect selected a long dress with an orange top and leopard print skirt.
The bride-elect’s mother, Tonya, wore a white dress with a red jacket, and the prospective groom’s mother, Janet, was clad in a pink and tan long summer dress.
The bride-elect, her mother and the groom’s mother all wore matching yellow rose corsages.
Sommer and Aaron will be wed on Saturday, July 27, at Forest Park Church of Crowley, with Reverend Jason Corder officiating.
Sommer is the granddaughter of Pam and Eddie Hoffpauir, the late Emily and Wilbert LeJeune and the late Ginger Clair Gass, all of Crowley.
Aaron is the grandson of Dorothy and Paul Letz, the late Merline Letz, the late Mary and Wilson Broussard and the late Mr. and Ms. E.P. Thibodeaux, also all of Crowley.
