Vows exchanged between Wright, Simon at St. Joseph Catholic Church
RAYNE - In a beautiful ceremony on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 6 p.m., Tegan Klair Wright and Chester J. “Trey” Simon III exchanged sacred marriage vows before the altar of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rayne. Father Clint Trahan was the celebrant of the nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Jan and Brandon Boullion of Rayne and Marcus Meyer of Crowley. Tegan is the granddaughter of Michael and Alvernia Wright of Rayne and Lee and Shirley Meyer of Crowley.
The groom is the son of Chester and Michelle Simon of Lyons Point and Tonya Hargrave of Lyons Point. He is the grandson of Chester and Laura Simon of Lyons Point, August and Louise Hargrave of Franklin and the late Earline Hargrave.
Mr. Simon attended Morse Elementary and is a 2007 graduate of Midland High School. He is self employed with Trey Simon Farms. Mrs. Simon attended Rayne Catholic Elementary and is a 2009 graduate of Notre Dame. She presently works at the registrar of voters office in Acadia Parish.
Guests rose from their seats as the doors of the church opened to reveal the bride. She was lovingly escorted by her godfather in slow precession to the main altar of the church and presented to her groom.
For her wedding day, Tegan chose a lovely gown of ivory lace. The cap-sleeved, trumpet-shaped gown featured a keyhole back and heavily beaded sash which led into a chapel train. The bride carried a beautiful traditional bouquet of delicate bridal roses in hues of off white.
Within her bouquet sat a blue hummingbird.
The bride’s maid of honor was her aunt, Lia Credeur. Also in attendance to the bride, were Kellen Wright and Madison Webb, sisters of the bride. The bridesmaids wore latte chiffon and charmeuse dresses with rounded neckline. As a special touch, they held bouquets of red roses adorned with copper. The flower girl was Demi Wright, sister of the bride. The ring bearers were Carsyn Simon, brother of the groom, and Scott Webb, brother of the bride.
Attending the groom as best man was his best friend, Tyler Borill. The other groomsmen were Jory Trahan and Anthony Hoffpauir, both first cousins of the groom. Serving as ushers were Cooper Boullion, stepbrother of bride; Blake Leger, friend of the groom; Ben Boullion, stepbrother of the bride; Cody Faul, brother of the groom; and Jagar Boullion, stepbrother of the bride.
Jan Wright Boullion, the mother of the bride, was adorned with a single red rose corsage. She wore a black two-peice organza gown. The sleeveless taffeta slim cut formal featured a matching hand beaded cutout embroidered organza jacket with short sleeves. The ruched taffeta waistband was finished with a rosette.
Tonya Hargrave, the mother of the groom, wore a hammered shimmer jacket dress with a tiered skirt. She also wore a single red rose corsage.
A reception was held at Union Hall immediately following the ceremony.
The bridal cake was a traditional three tiered confection embellished with red roses. The groom’s cake was a rectangle shaped cake decorated with a combine and the beautiful scenery of a rice field.
The parents of the bride and groom hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party and family members. Guests enjoyed crawfish etouffee at the residence of Brandon and Jan Boullion on November 23.
After their wedding trip to Orange Beach, Ala., the newlyweds will reside in Lyons Point.
