Warriors cruise past Starks

CROWLEY – The Northside Christian Warriors made short work of Starks on Tuesday by banging out 15 hits in a 22-0 rout that was halted after the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.
The Warriors (15-2, 7-0) did all their damage in the first two innings, sending 11 batters to the plate in the first frame and 19 in the second.
Bradley Ancelet had a two-run single in his second at bat of the first inning while Kenneth Earls drove in a run with a double. Nick Martin added an RBI single as the Warriors jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
The second inning was highlighted by a two-run single from Ancelet and a two-run double by Earles. Jordan Monte, Martin, Dillon Hayes, Bryce Gotte and Dustin Hernandez each had a run-scoring single while Joseph Trahan picked up an RBI on a triple and Nick Zaunbrecher doubled in a run.
Starks was limited to one base runner the entire contest and that occurred on a leadoff single to start the game.
The Warriors used five pitchers in the victory: Monte and Trahan each pitched one inning and struck out three each while Ancelet, Martin and Christian Morgan each struck out one in one inning of work.
Earles, Ancelet, Martin, Zaunbrecher and Hayes each had two hits on the day while Gotte, Hernandez, Monte, Trahan and Morgan each had one.
