Wayne D. Davis
CROWLEY - A memorial service for Wayne D. Davis, 58, will be held at Holy Temple of Deliverance on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. Bishop Bryan Minix will officiate the service.
A native of Crowley and a resident of Phoenix, Ariz., Mr. Davis departed this life on Sept. 2, 2013, in Phoenix. He was born on Jan. 19, 1955, in Crowley to the late Howard Davis Sr. and Odile Carrier Davis.
Wayne was baptized at an early age at St. Theresa Catholic Church, where he also made his first Communion and Confirmation.
Wayne had a quiet spirt. He loved being with his family. He liked eating wild meats such as turtle, rabbit, and squirrel, to name a few. He liked being outside, gathering together with his family and friends enjoying barbeque and all the trimmings. When something needed to be done, he did it.
He attended Ross Elementary School, graduated from Crowley High School in 1973 and attended the vocational school where he received an electrician’s certificate.
His survivors include his wife, Delores Hooper Davis of Phoenix, Ariz.; his children, Tyrone (Kimberly) Davis of Ardmore, Okla., Eulanda (Steven) Guillory of Branch, and Damien Davis of New York City, N.Y.; grandchildren, Alaysia Arvie, Jevon Davis Jr., Jasmyne Piggee, Da’Onna Waddell, Koby Martin, Aalayah Arvie, Alexis Arvie, Keyerra Guillory, Tresey Guillory, Kasey Guillory, Deniya Bernard and Kourtsie Bernard; siblings, Douglas (Patricia) Davis, of Fultondale, Ala., Cassandra Davis, of Baton Rouge, and Sheryl Davis of Crowley; an aunt, Gladys Ceasar of Crowley; an uncle, Arthur Davis of Crowley; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Odile Carrier Davis and Howard Davis, Sr.; siblings, Howard “Pic-a-dee” Davis Jr. and Brenda Davis Batiste; nieces, Felicia Reva “Momma Lisa” Batiste and Jacqunette Rachelle Davis; and nephew Juan Jerome “PaPa” Davis.
