Lana René Thibodeaux weds Brad Mitchel Thibodeaux

Family Life Church in Lafayette served as the setting on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, for a 6 p.m. wedding ceremony uniting in marriage Lana René Thibodeaux and Brad Mitchel Thibodeaux, both of Lafayette. The double-ring ceremony was celebrated by Pastor Todd Menard.

The bride is the daughter of Steven and Mary Thibodeaux of Rayne. Her grandparents are Merlin and Della-Mae Alleman of Rayne, the late Juluis Thibodeaux and JoAnn Thibodeaux of Indian Bayou. She is a 2006 graduate of Rayne High School, completed studies in 2009 from Remington College in cosmetology, and is self-employed.

On the arm of her father, the bride wore a vintage-style wedding gown of ivory lace over a gold slip-dress. The mermaid-style gown featured capped sleeves and a keyhole back closure. Her headpiece was an ivory bloom with ivory lace trim. She carried a live bouquet of ivory roses with colorful colorful accents.

Her life-long friend, Jan Comeaux served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kristy Butterfield, sister of the groom; Tristin Broussard, cousin of the bride; Monica Thibodeaux, sister-in-law of the groom; and Lauren Hollier, Candice Meche and Amanda Tjoa, friends of the bride.

Bridal attendants wore a floor-length gown of plum satin each styled to their liking. Each carried a live bouquet of fall color blooms.

Serving as flower girls were Kylie Thibodeaux, godchild of the groom, and Khloe Thibodeaux, niece of the groom. Each wore an ivory dress and carried live flowers in fall colors.

Attending his brother as best man was Jason Thibodeaux.

Groomsmen were Shane Thibodeaux, brother of the groom; Lance Thibodeaux, brother of the bride; Jarad Gaspard, cousin of the bride; and Zack Simon, Josh Pomier and Cole Duplantis, friends of the groom.

Brayden Rodrigue, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Male attendants wore gray suits with matching vests and plum-tine ties.

Serving as ushers were Troy Vincent, friend of the couple, and Timmy Monte and Jordan Guillot, cousins of the groom.

For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride, Mary Alleman Thibodeaux wore a mauve, knee-length dress, while the groom’s mother, Loretta Bouillion Thibodeaux selected a plum one-shoulder knee-length dress. Each was presented a fall shoulder corsage.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at Fezzo’s III Banquet and Reception Hall in Scott. The fall decor included a rustic theme, noted by fall-toned accents.

Among the refreshments was the bridal cake, a four-tier, round buttercream confection with strawberry and chocolate fillings accented with fall-tone flowers matching the bride’s bouquet.

The groom’s cake was a traditional chocolate confection with lemon filling and chocolate buttercream icing topped with a fleur de lis sportsman’s symbol.

Following a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic and Punta Cana, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
