Wells, Moody united in holy matrimony
Emily Elizabeth Wells and Hunter Armstrong Moody exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at
St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Alexandria. The Reverend Father Craig Scott officiated the 7 p.m.. nuptial mass.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Overton Wells of Alexandria. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Chester Wells and the late Mr. Wells of Alexandria and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ramsey Atkinson of Baton Rouge.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Victoria Harris Moody and Mr. Braxton Isham Moody IV of Lafayette. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Braxton Isham Moody III of Crowley and the late Mrs. Mary Pernici Harris of DeRidder.
Serving as maid of honor was Claire Wells, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Victoria LaPrairie and Meredith Moody, sisters of the groom; Kimen Moody, sister-in- law of the groom; Annie LaPrairie, niece of the groom; Kathryn Wells, cousin of the bride; Georgia Harper, Kallie Leyser, Kathryn Beck, Kristin Creel and Alexis Oliver, friends of the bride.
Serving as best man was Douglas Horaist, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Braxton Moody V and Tyler Moody, brothers of the groom; Joseph Oliver LaPrairie IV, nephew of the groom; Frankie Harris and Andrew Robertson, cousins of the groom; Michael Marceaux, Henri Hebert, Matthew Emory and Burke Keaty, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Trey Hebert and Joshua Leyser, friends of the bride; Michael Sipos, Leonard Rainey, Charles Wattigny and Josh Boudreaux, friends of the groom.
Flower girl was Kempton Moody, niece of the groom. Ring Bearers were George Hendrick, cousin of the bride; and Jacob LaPrairie, nephew of the groom.
Readers were Daniel R. Atkinson, grandfather of the bride; Stephen Moody, godfather and uncle of the groom; and Frankie S. Harris III, uncle of the groom.
Bringing up the offertory gifts were Carolyn C. Harris, godmother and aunt of the groom; and Maureen S. Downs, family friend of the bride.
Vocalists for the ceremony were Nancy Hendrick, godmother and aunt of the bride; and Michael Hendrick, uncle of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Alexandria Riverfront Center in Alexandria.
Following a honeymoon trip on the island of Antigua, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
