Wilbur "Willie" Young

Wilbur “Willie” Young died on January 27, 2009, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. Arrangements are under direction of Ardoin's Eunice.

He was retired from the St. Landry Sheriff Department and also a veteran of the United States Marines during the Korean War. He was active in the Eunice Players Theater and also acted in several feature films.

He is survived by his son, Rob Young, and wife, Sandra of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Faye Arceneaux and husband, Ernest of Eunice; two brothers, Jimmy Young of Eunice and Johnny Young of Port Barre; a sister, Joyce Smith of Opelousas; three grandchildren, Erik Arceneaux, Megan Arceneaux Blanchard, and Spencer Arceneaux; and four great-grandchildren, Emily Arceneaux, Demi Arceneaux, Kemi Arceneaux and Jace Blanchard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Diane House Young; his parents, Artiste and Lydia Fruge Young; and numerous siblings.
