Wilfred James Romero Jr.
CROWLEY – Funeral services for Wilfred James Romero Jr., 48, will be held at Northside Assembly of God Church in Crowley on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Loyd Singley officiating. Wilfred was called to the Lord on Wednesday, April, 7, 2010, at 1:58 p.m. at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Hospital in Shreveport.
Wilfred was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a 10 year veteran member of the Louisiana National Guard. He spent the last 30 years in the oilfield industry and for the last three years was employed with Drilling Solutions in Lafayette as an Operations Manager.
The family requests visiting hours Friday, April 9, 2010, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, April 10 at 8 a.m. until the time of his services. Wilfred will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 27 years, Stephanie Gotte Romero along with their four beautiful children, Heather Romero of Rayne, Wilfred III (Trey), Heidi & Dylan Romero all of Crowley; one grandson, Schoen DesOrmeaux of Rayne; his parents, Wilfred Sr. and Shirley N. Romero of Rayne; two brothers, Murray Romero and his wife Joanie of Indian Bayou and Terry Romero and his wife Julie of Crowley; two sisters, Tammy Saltzman and her husband Harry Lee of Rayne and Christine Istre and her husband Wayne of Rayne; maternal grandfather Issac Navarre Sr.; three Godchildren Tyson Dupuis, Myra Istre and Trent Gotte; eight nieces and ten nephews.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Perry Romero in 1962 (infant) and Perry Romero I; paternal grandparents, Mr. Otis & Mrs. Marie Breaux Romero; maternal grandmother, Lilly M. Navarre; aunts, Shirley R. Dupuis, Winnie Prejean and Lerlene Simon; and uncle Ellis Romero.
