CROWLEY – Services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Wilson Hanks, 79, of Vidor, Texas.
Hanks died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. The Reverend Lloyd Singley will officiate the services.
Visitation will begin Monday at 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will continue Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Burial will follow at the Acadia Rest Haven Cemetery in Crowley.
Mr. Hanks is survived by three daughters, Kathy Wagner of Bridge City, Texas, Sarah Hanks of Vidor, Texas, and Barbara Matson, of Fort Polk; three sons, Kenneth Hanks of Orange, Texas, Johnny Hanks of Bradenton, Fla., and Bill Hanks of Brookland, Texas; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hanks is preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Hanks; his parents, Mr. Simar and Lodia Hanks; two brothers Joseph and Climilie Hanks; and two sisters, Rena Hanks and Mary Mae Johnson.
Mr. Hanks was a native of Crowley and a resident of Vidor, Texas. He was known for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Hanks was a wonderful person who would always put a smile on your face. When he spoke to you his face would glow. He always had jokes to tell that could make you laugh. He will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.
