Wolves, Ladies attend Bear Paw Relays at Church Point

The Wolves and Lady Wolves Track Teams attended the Bear Paw Relays on Wednesday, April 10, in Church Point with a number of Rayne High athletes collecting team points and placing in their individual events.
The Wolves finished the meet tied for sixth place attaining 34 points on the night.
In the field for the Wolves, five athletes finished among the top finishers.
Paton Duhon nabbed a fourth in the discus with a throw of 126-8, while Josh Peltier cleared 10-0 in the pole vault for a fourth place.
In the jumps, Peyton Larry cleared 5-10 in the high jump for fourth place.
In the triple jump, Vandarian Myles placed second (43-2) and Robert Butler took fourth (41-10.5)
Jalen Williams, a favorite in the sprint who is questionable for district due to a hamstring injury, took a second in the 100-meter dash at 11.32.
Williams was also a member of the 4x200 relay team who finished fifth with a 1:32.20 time. He was joined by Charles Jones, Javon Cormier and JaQuan Cormier.
Ethan Baham timed in at 17.83 in the 110-meter hurdles for a sixth place finish.
The Lady Wolves collected 40 points for an eighth place finish.
In the field, Taylor Arceneaux threw a 100-5.5 throw in the discus for a second place finish.
Tanner Wilson claimed a second place finish in the triple jump with a 33-11.5 leap.
Williams also took a second in the 400-meter dash with a 1:02.13 time.
Tristan Mouton collected two second place finishes on the night. She timed in at 16.91 in the 100-meter hurdles, followed by a 49.89 second place finish in the 300-meter hurdles.
The Rayne High Track Team was scheduled to participate in the 5-3A Track Meet Wednesday at Eunice High School with the top finishers headed to the Region II-3A Meet on Wednesday, April 24, at UL-Lafayette. The 3A State Meet is slated for Saturday, May 4, on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge.
