Woman stabbed Friday on North Polk Street
Rayne Police have identified the stabbing suspect as Gregory William Redondo Jr, W/M, Dob 10/24/1981, 831 La Maison Road, Duson, La.
The suspect’s vehicle was recovered wrecked in Scott on Jenkins Road.
The investigation is continuing at this time.

The victim is listed in stable condition with three stab wounds, one to her arm, neck and chest. She was transported to American Legion Hospital and is in stable condition.
Rayne Police were called the intersection of North Polk and Oak Streets shortly after 11 a.m. Friday to aid a young woman who had been stabbed.
A passing couple called city police after discovering the woman who reportedly ran from her assailant on North Polk. The man indicated to police he witnessed the attack as it occurred.
A witness reported the victim identified her boyfriend as her attacker.
The woman’s front was drenched in blood and she held a towel to her neck as she waited in a driveway for an ambulance which took her to American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
The suspect reportedly fled into Lafayette Parish where police found his vehicle and continued their search.
Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly was not immediately available to comment on the attack.
