Women in Ag. conference set for Aug. 30
CROWLEY - Acadiana Resource Conservation & Development, Inc., will host the Louisiana Women in Agriculture Conference on Aug. 30 beginning at 10 a.m. at the LSU-Ag Center Cooperative Extension Service Office in Crowley.
Conference sessions will target the needs of women in agriculture.
Producers from across the state will have an opportunity to network and learn more about conservation opportunities, marketing tactics, soil health, farm disaster readiness and leadership opportunities.
Registration cost is $15/person. Lunch is provided.
In addition to sessions presented by Dr. Mike Strain, Louisiana’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry, and technical experts from Ducks Unlimited, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Southern US Trade Association, LSU Department of Veterinary Sciences and the Louisiana Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Program, prominent Louisiana women in agriculture will lead a roundtable discussion of issues important to women in agriculture in Louisiana.
The LSU-Ag Center Cooperative Extension is located at 157 Cherokee Drive in Crowley.
Conference check-in begins at 10 a.m., and conference sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. The conference ends at 4 p.m.
