Workshop to highlight Redevelopment Project
CROWLEY – The Crowley Main Street Program will hold a workshop on Wednesday, June 1 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and continue on
Thursday, June 12. The workshop will be held at 10 N. Parkerson Avenue (Wells Fargo Building). Valerie Gaumont, Certified Local Government coordinator for the Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism will be the presenter. The workshop will include work plans for the Main Street Program and Historic Commission and also components for preparing for construction of the Historic Parkerson Avenue Redevelopment Project.
Kayla Link with the Crowley Chamber of Commerce will speak about the low interest rate loans for small businesses in the area that the chamber offers through a grant from USDA, and Rita Johnson, Crowley Main Street manager, will give information on facade grants and tax credits that the Main Street Program offers through the Louisiana Main Street and the Division of Historic Preservation Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism.
All Main Street business owners or a representative is asked to be in attendance, along with all Main Street committee members, members of the Historic Commission and the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. During the Historic Parkerson Avenue Redevelopment Project, there will be a great deal of disruption going on in the Main Street area. One of the purposes of the workshop is to help Main Street businesses to retain and/or increase their customer base. This workshop will also help the Main Street Program to be able to promote the project in a positive manner, and will enable them to still make customers happy.
If you or someone from your business will attend the workshop you will need to contact Rita Johnson at the Main Street office at 788-4123 by Tuesday, June 10 no later than noon so they will know how many people to provide lunch for on Wednesday. This will be a very informative workshop.
