Zaunbrecher, Chapman united in holy matrimony

Emily Claire Zaunbrecher and Jacob William Chapman exchanged wedding vows on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in Grand Coteau. Father Benoit Drapeau officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Fred and Candee Zaunbrecher of Duson. She is the granddaughter of the late John P. Sawyer of Vero Beach, Florida, and the late Claire D. Sawyer of Atherton, California, and Margaret P. Zaunbrecher of Rayne and the late Glenn W. Zaunbrecher.

Emily is a graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. After the wedding, she will continue her education at Southern Medical Corporation in Baton Rouge.

The groom is the son of Conrad and Denise Chapman of Lafayette. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth LaFleur, Sr. of Lafayette, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Chapman of Jackson, Louisiana.

Jacob is a graduate of Lafayette High School and Louisiana State University. Following the wedding, he will be working in Baton Rouge.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory stain gown by Casablanca Bridal with a beaded bodice and sweetheart neckline. Heavy silver beading on a fitted bodice flowed into a full shirt with a pleated detail on back. The gown’s gorgeous cathedral-length train was also adorned with matching intricate bead-work.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was her friend, Laura Cain Miller. Bridesmaids were Nicole Comeaux Zaunbrecher, sister-in-law of the bride; Mary Zaunbrecher, cousin of the bride; and Ashley Baggett, Caitlyn Baggett and Allison Baggett, sisters of the groom.

Chosen to serve as best man was friend of the groom, Billy Tujague. Groomsmen were Lee Chapman, brother of the groom; Timmy Zaunbrecher, brother of the bride; and Stephen Hernandez, Mark Davenport and William Haxthausen, friends of the groom. Ushers were Truett Fortenberry, Stewart Edwards and Hunter Boynton, friends of the groom.

Madeline Grace LaFleur, cousin and godchild of the groom, served as flower girl, while Brice Glenn Zaunbrecher, nephew and godchild of the bride; performed the duties of ring bearer.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at River Oaks Catering.

Upon returning from a honeymoon to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge.
