James English Seaton

James was born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on April 17, 1940, to McFarland Seaton and Lorane Carnlay. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Feb. 25, 2020.
James served your country honorably in the Army for 23 years before retiring. He then went on to worked as a cook. He loved to hunt, fish, and play on his Ipad. Most of all James loved spending time with his family.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
James is survived by his wife, Jeanette B. Seaton of Jennings; and his daughter, Lydia Ann Seaton of Jennings.
James was preceded in death by his parents, McFarland and Lorane Seaton; and his step-son, Sherwood Wayne Boatman.
Funeral services for James English Seaton, 79, of Jennings, were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 2 p.m. with Jack Harris and Mark Broussard officiating.
A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, Feb, 28, at 2:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation resumed on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 9 a.m. until the time of his service at 2 p.m. with Full Military Rites.
The family of Mr. James are honoring his wishes of cremation following his services.

Maria Elizabeta Samin

RAYNE - Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at noon in Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne, for Maria Elizabeta Samin, 86, who died Friday, February 28, at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Litija, Slovenia.

Deacon Denis LaCroix with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, will conduct the memorial services.

Mrs. Samin was a bold, spunky, undaunted person who lived life to the fullest. She spoke five languages, and loved to read and travel. She easily made friends everywhere she went. Among her many accomplishments was receiving a commission to paint President Ronald Reagan's portrait. She was delighted to receive a letter from the President thanking her for her work. Her favorite place was her lovingly restored stone house in Baska, Krk. When her grandchildren joined her at her home for the summer holiday, her joy was complete.

Survivors include her daughter, Natasha Samin Domagalski and spouse Paul A. Domagalski of Duson, son, Greg Samin and spouse Deborah Freemond Samin of Lake in the Hills, ILL, two grandchildren, Reese F.L. Samin, Ellie M.L. Samin both of Lake of the Hills, ILL, three sisters, Nika Zucchiatti of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Marjeta Skufca of Litija, Slovenia, Elica Tomazic and spouse Tomo Tomazic of Pivka, Slovenia, brother, Adi Pintar and spouse Danijela Pintar of Skofja Loka, Slovenia, sister-in-law, Paula Pintar of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

She was preceded in death by husband, John M. Samin, father, Franci Pintar, mother, Ursula Pirc Pintar, two brothers, Franci Pintar, Janez Pintar, brother-in-law, Joze Zucchiatti.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne on Monday March 2, 2020 from 11:00 am to noon.

Robert P. Simoneaux

RAYNE - A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Robert P. Simoneaux, 66, at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, with Rev. Kevin Bordelon as Celebrant.
Visitation began in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel on Monday, Feb. 17, at 12:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m., and resumed on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 8 a.m. until just prior to the service time.
Interment followed the mass in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
Mr. Simoneaux passed away on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at his home in Rayne.
Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty four years, Carolyn Simoneaux of Rayne; father, Wilbert Simoneaux of Rayne; children, Lauri Simoneaux of Houston, Texas, and Celeste Simoneaux of Rayne; grandchildren, Zachary Simoneaux of Houston, Texas, Peighton Simoneaux, Hayes Prudhomme, Paxton Prudhomme and Corinne Hawley of Rayne; sisters, Vicki Istre and husband Carl and Bridget Leon and husband Rob, all of Rayne.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Lou Gremillion.
Pallbearers were Carl Istre, Pat Leleux, Judd Hawley, Kyle Leleux and Chad Leleux.

Lonnie B. Boulet

RAYNE - A Liturgy of the Word Service was celebrated for Lonnie B. Boulet, 57, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel, with Deacon Denis LaCroix officiating.
Visitation for family and friends was held in the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. on Thursday until just prior to the service time. Interment will be at a later date.
Ms. Boulet passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, in Lafayette.
Lonnie dearly loved her family and friends and will be missed by many.
Special thanks to Lawrence Donahoe, Cammy Beaullieu, Marcelle and Compassus Hospice of Lafayette.
Ms. Boulet is survived by her son, Daniel Boulet and his companion, Lydia Robinson of New Iberia; two grandchildren, Skylar Wilson and Trey Wilson, both of New Iberia; two brothers, Don Quebodeaux and wife Brenda of Lafayette and Jay Quebodeaux and wife Diana of Rayne; five nieces; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Boulet; grandmother, Lillian Mendoza; infant sister, Cynthia Quebodeaux; and grandfather, Paul Boulet.
