Troy Pelsia
Funeral services for Mr. Troy Pelsia, 51, of Lake Arthur will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur with Pastor Pat Deshotel officiating.
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mr. Pelsia began on Monday, Feb. 24, at 4:30 p.m. and will continue until 9 p.m.
Mr. Pelsia was a resident of Lake Arthur for the past 23 years, moving here from Basile. He was a chef in the food and beverage industry. He loved to fish, hunt, play his guitar and ride his motorcycle. But most of all, his children were his most wonderful blessings.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James “JW” Pelsia and Jeanette Deshotel; and one sister, Debbie Pelsia.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Lainey Sonnier, Chelsea (Erin) LaPoint of Lake Arthur, Kelsey (Francisco) Salamanca of Orange, Texas; three sons, John Matt of Pine Prairie, Troy “TJ” Pelsia of Lake Arthur, Jordan Pelsia of Jennings; two sisters, Gail (Rodger) Pedigo of Eunice, Bridgette (Mike) Deville of Pine Prairie; two brothers, Kenneth (Bernetta) Pelsia of Breaux Bridge, Blake (Pam) Pelsia; one grandson, Saige Matt; his girlfriend, Kanthi Doucet; the mother of his children, Stephanie Chaisson; and two expecting granchildren.

Jeanelle B. Beard
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley for Jeanelle B. Beard, 73, who passed away at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Crowley on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at 10:28 p.m.
Fr. Jason Vidrine, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services.
Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 9:30 a.m. until time of services in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 1:30 in the afternoon in the funeral home chapel.
Survivors include her husband, of 53 years, Kenneth W. Beard Sr. of Crowley; one daughter, Deborah G. and husband Timothy LeJeune of Crowley; one son, Kenny and wife Tina Beard of Canton, Ohio; one granddaughter, Ashley Guillot and fiancé Timothy Guidry of Crowley; six step-grandchildren, Brandy and husband Travis Broussard of Abbeville, Rose and husband Daniel Russo of Canton, Ohio, Debra Blevins of Canton, Ohio, Brante and wife Kimberly LeJeune of Morse, Jon Paul and wife Lacey Sawn LeJeune of Beaver City, Nebraska, and Robert Poole Jr., and girlfriend Vanessa Carter of Canton, Ohio; 22 step-great-grandchildren, Alayah Guidrey, Lexus LeJeune, Hayden LeJeune, Jessie Harris, Jabin LeJeune, Arianna LeJeune, Gabriel LeJeune, Christian LeJeune, Callie Clair Broussard, Brandon Chapman, James Chapman, Connor Chapman, Mia Russo, Rocco Russo, Thomas Blevins, Nathan Blevins, Hannah Blevins, Joanna Blevins, Johnathen Blevins, Abebrian Poole, Carter Poole, Rowin Poole and Colton Poole; and two godchildren, Connie LeJeune and Lisa Cazes.
Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her parents, John “T-John” and Eties T. Broussard.
Mrs. Beard was a native of Louisiana, resident of Crowley for 50 years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Crowley.

Lucille Gautreaux
Family and friends of Lucille Gautreaux are mourning the loss of their loved one, who was called from this life on Feb. 23, 2020, at the age of 75.
Lucille was born on Sept. 17, 1944, to Loris Boullion and Alice Leger Boullion. Lucille was a cafeteria worker up until her retirement.
She loved spending time with her children and grandbabies. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crocheting. Lucille was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Lucille is survived by her beloved husband, Murphy Gautreaux of Morse; one son, Joey (Rachael) Gautreaux of Morse; daughters, Alice (Mike) Boutte of Morse and Karla (Richard Romero) Gautreaux of Lafayette; her five grandchildren, Daniel, Eric, Ariel, Devin, and Aurora; her seven great-grandchildren; and her brother, James Boullion of Carlyss.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Loris and Alice Leger Boullion; daughter, Janet Nettles; son-in-law, Greg Nettles; great-grandchild, Malachai Nettles; two brothers, John and Thomas Boullion; sister, Alice Boullion.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. with Father Randall Moreau officiating.
Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends began at Matthews Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, Feb 24, from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requested that visitation resume on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 8 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass.
Carrying Lucille to her final resting place in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery are Joey Gautreaux, Eric Gautreaux, Devin Gautreaux, Daniel Nettles, Ricky Romero and Mike Boutte.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Boullion and Joe Bratton.
